Happy Memorial Day,
I have a hard time putting "Happy" in a sentence with "Memorial Day". How does one celebrate Memorial Day? How does one celebrate all the lives lost in all US wars? Do we have a barbecue and drink a few beers? Well, however you decide to celebrate this Memorial Day, take a minute or two of silence and think about all the people that have given their lives for the freedoms that we have today. Hopefully their lives weren't lost in vain.
Happy Memorial Day

Life is short, no regrets
I don't know why I do this (blog), but I just do. I don't know where this stuff comes from, but it just comes. It kind of sets me free, maybe I feel I need to let it out. Anyway...
I'm on a journey and you guys reading this are going with me on this journey.
You ever loved something or someone so much you just want to be next to them all the time? You don't want to be away for a minute.
Life is short, life live with no regrets. You don't know if you are going to wake up tomorrow, or if your going to wreck your car or an alien from outerspace could abduct you and do experiments on you, we don't know what's going to happen, so live life. Many of my family and friends have relatives that are either not with us anymore or not in good health. We don't know how long we have on this Earth so live life to the fullest and leave no regrets.
Love people don't hate, smile at people, tell strangers good morning, help people when you can. Tell the people you care about that you love them. Wouldn't you hate to lose someone and not have told them the last time you saw them that you loved them?

Patience
Patience is hard to have! It's not like we can go out and buy some at the local Wall-mart store, or for us in Germany, the Ikea. I wish. This is just my opinion, but I think that the reason so many marriages fail is because we give up too fast. When we are faced with adversity we run away. Yeah it's going to suck trying to work out your relationships, who knows for how long, everyone is different, but anything worth having takes time, hard work and dedication. A marriage takes work, even when there are no major problems. Remember from a previous post; love your wife like God loves the Church. For everyone out there helping me through my trials and tribulations...thanks, thanks a lot! God bless each and everyone of you, until next time.

Adventure at the Airport
Alright, So I started my leave on a Friday for Mid-tour from Korea to Germany. I had my plans all mapped out. I was all packed and ready to go. I woke up early ( I could hardly sleep anyway-too anxious). I walked about 1/2 a mile to the front gate so I didn't have to pay for a base taxi. I waited anxiously for an off base taxi (kemshi-cab). The on base taxis would have charged me way too much. I was told that there are always kemshi-cabs off base. Well there were no cabs. Finally, a Korean offered to take me to the bus station. We haggled over the price and settled for $10. I was really in no position to haggle. I was desperate for a ride. I arrived at the bus station and the Korean that gave me the ride and an attendant at the bus station helped me purchase a bus ticket. The bus leaves at 7. I have about 30-45 minutes to wait. Anyway, I make it to Inchon international airport and I go to the information desk to find out where I need to check in and I show my electronic boarding pass to the lady and she looks it up on her computer and proceeds to tell me that my flight has been canceled. At that point I think I was almost about to mess in my pants. I am sure I made the most awful face she had ever seen cause she couldn't help but laugh a little and she said she was sorry to have such bad news for me. I must have looked like I was about to cry, she stated that I need to go to the airline office. Toting my bags, I hike what seems like a good 2 miles, by the time I find their office. I sit down and show the representative my ticket and she explains to me that my flight is actually tomorrow. Now, I don't know where I went wrong. I must have thought I was going over the international date line (actually I am), but the date is clearly on the ticket telling me when my flight is. Maybe I was confused because for some reason I started my leave on Friday and my flight was on a Saturday. I don't know but I found the bus ticket office (I wouldn't really call it an office more like an embass) and I bought a ticket back to my base. Now some of my friends said I should have found a hotel and stayed there, or went to Osan and got a room there. One of my cheap friends stated that he would have just stayed at the airport for over 24 hours. At that point I wanted to get back to my room, my internet and say goodbye (again) to a few friends that will not be there when I get back. You should have seen the look on my cheap friends face when he opened his door and I was standing there-priceless. Anyway, I figured a room would be more expensive than a 16,100 won bus fare. That's about 9 US dollars. I could have possibly saved some time as well. The bus ride is about 3 hours away from Kunsan and Osan is 1 hour away. At any rate, I got the chance to practice the trip to the Airport the day before. I will chalk it up as a dry run.
So today is the second day of ground hog day and I sitting here at my gate, a few hours early. I hope this goes smooth, smoother than yesterday. Atleast It has so far...Well you'll be happy to know that the rest of my journey went smooth. I made it to my final destination. Until next time, God Bless and happy traveling.

How do you know what decisions to make? Do you wear a red pullover or a blue button-up, boxers or briefs? Everyday we have to make decisions, some may not be life altering ones. How do you make the important ones? How do you know which one to make? Do you take the road less traveled or do you take the one that looks like everyone else has taken. I guess you have to follow you heart, but sometimes our brain get's in the way, or are we following our brain and our heart get's in the way?
I guess we have to follow God and see where he takes us.

Sleeping for 30 years...or so
I watched a movie last night and it made me cry like I've never cried before in my life. It was a life changing movie. Some of you know the movies name, the rest of you I am not going to tell you the name of the movie, maybe you can figure it out on your own. It was really powerful. I felt something inside of me, some of us call it the Holy Spirit. The reason the movie affected me so much is because me and my wife's marriage is going through the same thing as in the movie. (I was going to put my marriage, but it's not only mine it's my wife's as well.) I am not giving up though.
I know what unconditional love means now and I know what it means to be married. To be one person, to love your wife like God loves the Church. If you are in a wonderful loving relationship, make it stronger everyday and don't take it for granted-I know I have said that before. If you are in a relationship, pick up the phone and call your significant other and tell them you love them. A marriage is for sickness and in health, through good times and bad, for richer or poorer. It's forever!
Do you know what movie I watched?
I also had a dream last night. It felt so real. I woke up and I thought the dream was real. I am still searching for the meaning of the dream. I feel like I have been asleep for 30 something years and I am just waking up. That's what happens when God comes into your life and wakes you up.
I don't know why I feel so led to write, but I do-don't worry I will be back, Jerry

A discussion about Marriage.
I haven't blogged in quite some time so I want to get back into it. I want to talk about Marriage. Listen, making a Marriage work takes constant work, even if you don't have any major problems like infidelity. Just imagine if you were in a relationship that one of the partners strayed in.
Let's look at Matthew 19:1 New Living Translation. A discussion about Divorce and Marriage. Jesus went down to the region of Judea and large crowds followed and he healed their sick. Some Pharisees came and tried to trap him with this question. "Should a man be allowed to divorce his wife for any reason?" Jesus replied "Haven't you read the scriptures?, They record that from the beginning of time God made them male and female. And he said this explains why a man leaves his Father and Mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one. Since they are no longer two but one, let no one split apart what God has joined together."
In the next chapter the Pharisees say "Then why did Moses say in the law that a man could give his wife a written notice of divorce and send her away?"(Deuteronomy 24:1) Jesus replied "Moses permitted divorce only as a concession to your hard hearts, but it was not what God had originally intended. And I tell you this, whoever divorces his wife and marries someone else commits adultery-unless his wife has been unfaithful."
Jesus' disciples then say "If this is the case then it is better not to marry" Jesus says "Not everyone can accept this statement. Only those whom God helps. Some are born as eunuchs, some have been made eunuchs by others and some choose not to marry for the sake of the Kingdom of Heaven, let anyone accept this that can.
Now let's look at what it means to have a hard heart. I think what this means is that we have emotions, we have feelings, we get our feelings hurt, we hurt people and people hurt us. I hope that is what it means, let me know if you agree or disagree.
Okay, What is a eunuch? To live unmarried or celibate.
You know I am not going to put this in my words, I am going to give this to you and you can do what you will with it. I know what it means to me. Here it is for you. God Bless You! I'll be back, Jerry
