Well folks, the holidays are fast approaching as we are separated from loved ones, but we have each other. Let's not forget that. I was over at a friends room the other day and he was talking to his spouse and it made me long for having a conversation with my significant other even if we didn't really talk about anything. I listened in just so I could maybe figure out what to talk about with my wife. I miss having a 15 minute conversation with her. Everyone that has someone to talk to don't take it for granted. We take some of the smallest things for granted like holding hands. What I would give to be able to hold my wife's hand. A hug would be awesome or to hold her in my arms...don't take it for granted.
I remember we used to tell each other good night every single night, even if I was deployed. I wouldn't go to sleep until we did that. We would text each other on our cell phones. It's the little things.
I went to get a haircut the other day and you know how they cut your hair and then an attendant will come grab your hand and give it a message. Her hands were so soft, just a simple thing like a touch we may take for granted. Also, a persons smell, or getting up and having breakfast with you family. So if you have someone in your life that you care about, tell them you love them cause you never know how much time we have left with our loved ones.
I guess what I am trying to say this holiday season is just don't take your loved ones for granted. Tell them you love them.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

I agree man, sometimes we get so wrapped up in what we are doing we forget to stop and think about what God has blessed us with. Even small things like eating together at the chow hall night after night we take for granted. I am glad that I have great friends I can hang with during this holiday season since I cannot be with my family. I thank God for you Jerry and I know that God will do great things in your life.
