What does Marriage mean to you?

A marriage is a covenant. What does that mean? What does that mean to you? A covenant is a solemn contract, oath, bond, agreement, promise. It's a law. You are promised to someone for the rest of your life. You are dedicated to another person. You are supposed to cherish that person. You don't lust after another person. I didn't realize the concept of that. I didn't realize what that meant.

A marriage is forever or until one dies. Have you ever heard of a person in a marriage dieing and the other is so sad that they pass shortly after. That's love, that's true love. that's dedication.

I love my wife. I love her with all my heart and all my soul. I hate being away from my family. I hate missing time from them. That's days, weeks, months, years that I can not get back. In the Military it comes with the territory. We signed up for that.

Would you die for your spouse or your significant other. The Bible says love your wife as God loves the Church. Can you fathom that? How do we love our wife as much as God loves the Church? How do we do that?

I'm not trying to toot my own horn, but I have learned so much in the last few months. I feel like s sponge. I want to soak these things up. I want to grow spiritually. I feel like I am thirsting for knowledge. I enjoy blogging. It feels like it sets me free in a way. Maybe I can help someone along the way, maybe I can inspire someone along the way.

Anyway think of what marriage means to you. I think we take it for granted. I know I did. Marriage should be a big deal. We shouldn't go into it lightly. It's for the rest of your life. For better or worse, sickness and in health. Until the next time I feel inspired.

  1. Nicely put man, marriage is a lot more important than a lot of people view it. Being an Ephesians 5 husband is not easy, but it is what we are called to do. Great post and keep them coming.
